Chandra Babu Naidu was the champion of the IT growth in Hyderabad during his previous tenure. There is no exaggeration in telling he put Hyderabad on the IT World map. But after the state division, Chandra Babu seem to be clueless about how to promote IT in the new Andhra Pradesh state. In the recently introduced budget, IT sector had a meager 111 Crore allocations which is less than all other sectors.
Even usually considered less important Tourism sector has got more allocations (113 Crore). IT experts were severely displeased with allotments and say nothing less than 2000 Crores will be enough to compete with all equipped Hyderabad in the IT front. Government should also focus on getting special category status and tax incentives from the central government in order to gain the maximum potential from the Information Technology sector.
