AP to approach Supreme court over Special Status?

Andhra Pradesh government is mulling the idea of approaching the supreme court over the promised Special Category status. The TDP government is under severe pressure from all quarters to get the Special Status which is seen as crucial to the truncated state development.

Chandrababu Naidu reportedly is planning to file a petition on Supreme court to order the government of India to adhere to the promise made by the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the floor of parliament. However such move may anger the BJP which is the coalition partner to TDP.

But TDP is running out of options as the opposition is raking up the issue. Also various companies planning to invest in the state are waiting for the Special Status to be declared to derive the advantage or shifting to other states.
