AP to figure prominent in Mobile Giant’s expansion

It is known that Foxconn Technology Group had started making and shipping smartphones for China’s Xiaomi and US phone brand InFocus at its new plant in Andhra Pradesh. The plant came up in 7000 acres Sri City SEZ.

The company is amazed at the incentives offered by the state government and facilities to investors and looking at an expansion very soon.The current plant is set up at an investment of Rs 77 crore and is likely to manufacture about 10000 mobile phones a day.

Foxconn is also the maker of iPhones and iPads for Apple and Kindles for Amazon. They see Indian market as the next big thing and plans to create at least a million jobs by setting up 10-12 manufacturing facilities in India by 2020. Andhra Pradesh will figure prominent in their plans.
