Atmakuru: What Is Happening In Mekapati Family?

Atmakuru will have a by-election very soon due to the sudden demise of the then minister Mekapati Gowtham Reddy. There were rumors that his wife Sri Keerthy will be the YSRCP candidate.

All of sudden, Goutham Reddy’s brother, Vikram Reddy met the Chief Minister and his family announced him as the political heir of Goutham Reddy. He will be YSRCP’s candidate as well.

But this comes as a surprise because there are reports that Sri Keerthy is interested in politics and wants to contest her husband’s seat.

We do not know if she changed her mind at the last minute or if the family decided to have Vikram.

Hopefully, it is a decision taken by everyone’s consensus.

Meanwhile, it is interesting to see how the opposition parties respond to this.

In case Sri Keerthy is the candidate, they would have easily cooperated for a unanimous election.

Mekapati Goutham Reddy won from Atmakur in the 2014 and 2019 elections. In 2019, he won with a majority of 22K+ votes.
