Autos Ban lifted near Charminar!

Earlier this month, Hyderabad Traffic Police had imposed a ban on plying and parking of autos near Charminar in a bid to save the historical monument from pollution and also decrease the traffic around it.

However the Police have lifted the ban in less than a month after the representation of traders of the area who were complaining of steep decline in customer footfall and a drop in sales. Several traders in Lad Bazaar complained that customers were facing difficulties in reaching their shops during the month of Ramzan due to the autos ban and there by the sales are affected.

However the environmentalists were disappointed with this relaxation. They now lament that when a simple traffic diversion can not be sustained for a month, then the promised Charminar Pedestrianization Project will be a mirage.
