The court ordered the Government to give five acres of land to the Sunni Wakf Board in three months’ time. Earlier, the court said that there is adequate material in the ASI report that Babri Masjid not constructed on vacant land. There was a structure underlying the disputed structure.

The court also said that the underlying structure was not an Islamic structure. “Muslims have presented no evidence of exclusive possession prior to 1857. But thereafter they offered namaz there till they were ousted in 1949 through desecration,” the judgment said.
