BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavita got no respite in the Delhi Liquor Scam case as her bail petition has been rejected once again.
Kavitha has been denied bail in both ED and CBI cases. She will remained to be put under remand at Tihar Jail. It has been 108 days since her arrest.
Kavitha was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate officials on March 15 this year in Hyderabad. Later, she was shifted to Delhi.
After hearing the case, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court sent Kavitha to Tihar Jail.
Along with Kavitha, Delhi’s Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal and AAP leader Manish Sisodiya have also been arrested in the same case.
The ED and CBI alleged that Kavitha is one of the primary brains behind the money laundering scandal in the Delhi Excise Policy.
The officials also stated that she is powerful enough to influence the witnesses if she comes out of jail.
Kavitha challenged Rouse Avenue Court’s order and filed a bail petition at the Delhi High Court, seeking bail in the cases that were put against her.
Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, who reserved the order on bail pleas on May 28, has dismissed the petition today. Thus, Kavitha’s wait for bail continues.
