BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha faced another setback as the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi dismissed her interim bail petition.
Kavitha requested the court to grant her interim bail till April 16 due to her younger son’s annual exams. On April 4, the court heard the petition and reserved the judgment.
This morning, the court heard the arguments from both sides. The ED requested the magistrate not to grant bail for Kavitha. It pointed out that Kavitha tampered with evidence in the past and may repeat the same thing if she gets out on bail.
The ED further stated it has evidence to prove that Kavitha already threatened a few approvers in the case. Thus, it requested the court to deny bail. After hearing the arguments, the court dismissed Kavitha’s bail petition.
Meanwhile, the CBI’s special court will look into Kavitha’s normal bail petition on April 20. Kavitha was arrested on March 16 by the ED due to her alleged connection with the Delhi Liquor Scam case. She was sent to Tihar Jail on remand on March 26.
