News Channels Ratings: TDP-Leaning Channels Had Better Year!

BARC released the Telugu news channel ratings for the last week of 2025, Week 52. The data covers the 15 plus age group. TV9 and NTV continued to hold the top two positions during the week.

TV5, ABN, V6, and Sakshi followed next in that order. They occupied the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth positions respectively. These rankings remained largely stable through most of the year.

The so called TDP leaning channels, TV5 and ABN, consistently stayed in the third and fourth spots. Their positions did not change much across several weeks. This trend continued even during politically active periods.

Sakshi TV, owned by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, remained in the fifth or sixth position through the year. This reflects a steady decline in its popularity among viewers. The channel has not managed to improve its reach.

However, the challenge remains for the TDP. During major political developments or elections, top channels like TV9 and NTV often drop their neutral stance. They are seen supporting the YSR Congress at such times.

In the 15 plus age group ratings for Hyderabad, ABN secured the first position that week. TV9 ranked second, followed by TV5 in third place. V6 stood fourth, Sakshi fifth, and NTV slipped to sixth.
