Have We Become a Society of Insensitivity?

Media has evolved a lot in the recent years with 24X7 News Channels and later hefty competition between them. These channels run after sensationalism for the sake of TRPs and in the process often cross the line. The recent case of Beautician Sridevi is a Classic Example.

We have seen how n number of News Channels in Telugu dissect the case in n number of ways and thereby assassinating the character of the dead woman. And then there are the cases of Borewell Baby Death and Actor Bharath death the other day.

Our media is so insensitive to zoom into their horrific mortal remains. To know that these visuals will be available on the Internet forever for the bereaved families is spine-chilling. Those horrifying images will haunt the normal viewers as well.

Peeking into the personal lives of the dead, zooming onto the dead, assassinating the characters of the non-living and many others, media certainly came a long way that someone should show it the STOP board. If we do not remind them that, certainly we are insensitive.
