Beer and Wine Bars in AP!

Andhra Pradesh government is planning to introduce low-alcohol content bars. These bars will sell beer and wine which are low on alcohol content. This system is currently existing in Bengaluru. This attempt will curb the high consumption of hard liquor the government opines.

This is currently in proposal stage and the state government wants to fix lower license fee for wine and beer bars. At the same to discourage hard liquor consumption further the state government is raising the fees for regular bar license to Rs 40 lakh per bar for two years.

The excise department of the state is also introducing stipulate mandatory facilities that include parking, separate toilets for men and women, modern kitchen with staff, air-conditioning and proper ventilation. The excise department will be finalizing the new bar policy very soon and will announce the same in October and call bids for new bars in November.
