What Is Behind Jagan’s Desperate Calls for Early Election?

That very bad defeat of 2014 elections seems to be still haunting Leader of Opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The Opposition leader as well has all seen is struggling to come into terms with that defeat. Jagan on several occasions talked about toppling Chandrababu Naidu’s government and facing early elections.

Chandrababu Naidu has a comfortable majority in the house and then there is an extra support from the defected MLAs of YSR Congress. But still, Jagan often speaks about the early elections. Very recently, we have seen Jagan predicting early elections due to ‘One Country, One Election’.

Jagan in various political tours is giving election promises as if the elections are round the corner. Even the best of political analysts could not understand Jagan’s strategy with this. “He is giving this All is Well feeling. He is motivating leaders to spend money and cadre to hit roads with such strategy,” a political analyst said.

“Moreover, there is a feeling in the people that Jagan as an opposition leader is totally ineffective. With Pawan Kalyan coming in, there is a chance that Jana Sena may replace YSR Congress. So, Jagan is giving them a feel that he is going to come next.” they add. It has to be seen if that ploy works!
