Ever since My Home Rameshwara Rao and Megha Krishna Reddy took over TV9 and a significant stake in NTV, there has been a big change in the media space of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
NTV and TV9 are the Top 2 News Channels in Telugu. They have started hobnobbing with BRS and YSR Congress.
TV9, in particular, stooped to the extent of replacing Sakshi in Andhra Pradesh.
They did not learn the lesson even after KCR’s defeat in Telangana.
Both the channels tried to influence the election in favor of Jagan.
Who would forget TV9 bringing AARA Masthan to their studio one day before the polling and even before the polling concluded on the Polling Day trying to influence the voters?
Even after the elections, TV9 completely batted for the YSR Congress. We have seen TV9 giving extensive coverage of AARAA Masthan’s favorable survey to the YSR Congress.
TV9 is the only National Media group that gave a survey of YSR Congress winning.
Now with two hostile governments in AP and Telangana, things will not be easy for both channels.
Usually, after coming to power, leaders may keep aside their animosities.
But then, we have seen Nara Lokesh calling out both channels even after the polling yesterday.
Belt treatment may be imminent for both channels and that is also good for the Telugu media space which is riddled with biasedness and corruption.
