Big Split in Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi!

In a major shock to Aap chief Arwind Kejriwal, 15 councillors from the party left AAP and started a new party called Indraprastha Vikas Party under the leadership of Mukesh Goel.

Already, the party hasn’t recovered from the assembly poll drubbing. And the credibility of Arvind Kejriwal has come under the scanner following his stint in jail with regards to Delhi liquor scam and the money spent on his personal residence, now popular as sheesh mahal.

Mukesh Goel and his aide in the revolt, Himani Jain, said that despite being in power, they couldn’t do much for the people of Delhi through MCD. This was due to internal fighting, they shared.

However, the interesting point to note is them claiming that they would align with a party that works for the development of Delhi. Political analysts feel the party could align itself with the ruling BJP.

Also, the two leaders who caused the split have made it clear that more will leave the party and join them soon. Does the writing on the wall indicate the end of AAP? Well, those from Delhi say while it’s too early, it has to be underscored that it is a vital development in Delhi politics.
