BJP divided over Section 8

Bharatiya Janata Party had become the center of controversy in the Section 8 storm. AP BJP is demanding to implement it as soon as possible as it is an integral part of the Bifurcation Act. On the other side, Telangana BJP is taking the opposite stand.

BJP Core Committee meeting held yesterday in Hyderabad decided that implementing the Section 8 at this juncture will lead to clashes between both the states. BJP President Kishan Reddy clarified to the media that they are not related to Section 8 or Cash for Vote scam.

He said that courts will take care of Cash for Vote while Center will decide on Section 8. However he said the state BJP is not in favour of imposing Section 8 in Hyderabad. However one part of Telangana BJP feels that Kishan Reddy’s stand will not go well with the settlers and cause damage to the party ahead of GHMC elections.
