BJP Supporters Oppose Alliance with Janasena in GHMC Elections

Some Media Reports suggest that Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena Party is going to contest the upcoming GHMC Elections in Telangana. This will be the first election Janasena and BJP are contesting together since they allied after the 2019 elections.

Buzz is that Janasena will be contesting in 50 wards in the total 150 wards of the Corporation. However, BJP Supporters are totally opposing this alliance. “Janasena does not have a presence in Telangana. Giving it 50 wards will be a futile exercise, they say.

“BJP for the first time is looking like a real force in Telangana Politics. KCR will now invoke Andhra Card to corner BJP. Moreover giving 50 wards to Janasena at the expense of local leaders will do no good to the party. It is better to confine the alliance only to Andhra Pradesh,” they opine. Recently, Janasena has appointed committees for various divisions of the Greater Hyderabad.

“The idea is to bring Pawan Kalyan for the campaign. You can not ask him to campaign giving the party 10-15 wards. 50 wards is a respectable number. His presence will polarize the Seemandhra Votebank in favor of BJP,” a source in the BJP told us. The notification for the election may come anytime after the second week of November and the elections are likely to happen in December.
