BJP to arrive at compromise with Naidu

Bihar defeat seem to be taking a heavy toll on BJP high command. The parliamentary board meeting the other day reportedly ended up with a conclusion that the party has to take in to confidence the strong regional parties, if not things will not be so easy in 2019.

There were proposals from some senior leaders to induct Chandrababu Naidu as NDA convener and make him proactively work to get the confidence of the allies. This will also help the passage of the crucial bills in Rajya Sabha to some extent.

However giving more responsibilities to Chandrababu can be done only if AP is helped well by the center. So Chandrababu’s elevation if Modi agrees will only happen after the announcement of Special Package to the state. Special Status to AP is almost ruled out and the Special Package announcement may come in PM’s next visit to the state in January.
