BJP Trying To Clip Jagan’s Wings?

On Friday, a BJP delegation led by state chief Kanna Lakshminarayana visited the Polavaram Project Site and expressed its unhappiness over the lack of progress in the last four months. The State Unit will now meet Union Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Sunday and request him to take over the Project from the State.

Kanna alleges that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government has wasted time by terminating the previous contract and going in for reverse tendering, citing corruption. Political Experts see that this is a precursor before BJP showing its true colors to Jagan. Union Home Minister, Amit Shah refusing appointment twice to the Chief Minister and CBI filing a strong counter, objecting to Jagan seeking exemption from personal appearance in court in connection with his DA cases indicate the same.

The IT Raids on Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited, the company that is the frontrunner in getting Polavaram Balance Works in Reverse Tendering indicates that the Center is not keen on letting the Credit go to Jagan Government, the experts say.

Meanwhile, Jagan is trying to be in the good books of the Center. During the last Parliament session, the YSRCP also supported the Centre’s position on abrogation of Article 370 and only the last week, the Chief Minister met Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week to invite him to inaugurate the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
