BJP Turns Disaster in Telangana Elections

Disaster is a Small Word for BJP in the Telangana Elections. The Saffron Party is the only party of the Opposition to field candidates in all the constituencies but manages to win just one seat. Interestingly, the party President Lakshman and Floor Leader Kishan Reddy also badly to the shock of the party.

BJP only managed to give some fight in MIM seats like Bahadurpura and Karvan mostly due to the polarization of Hindu votes towards the party but finally, it could not win. The only winning seat is Raja Singh’s Gosha Mahal due to Hindu Votes. Interestingly, Raja Singh won the seat even after the entire State Unit is against him.

BJP has helped TRS to ensure the early elections even though the party is not prepared. The popular perception is that TRS has offered help to BJP after 2019 General Elections if NDA is short of numbers. Many including Lagadapati Rajagopal expected BJP to fare well in this election but it has turned to be a damp squib.
