“BJP Will Lose Deposits In 110 Seats”

Addressing the ‘Meet the Press’ program in Hyderabad, Telangana Congress President A. Revanth Reddy took a swipe at the BJP’s “BC for Chief Minister” promise, questioning the credibility of a party whose candidates struggled to retain deposits.

Reacting to the BJP’s election manifesto pledge to appoint a leader from the backward classes as chief minister if voted into power, Reddy expressed skepticism, highlighting the party’s failure to conduct a Backward Caste census.

Mocking the BJP’s vow, Reddy questioned how a party whose candidates failed to secure their deposits in 105 out of 119 constituencies could genuinely make such lofty assurances.

He went on to predict a more staggering defeat this time, suggesting that BJP candidates might lose deposits in a whopping 110 constituencies.

He underscored the contradiction between the BJP’s promise and its track record, noting that despite being in power in 10 states, there is only one OBC chief minister.

Reddy also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent announcement of a committee on SC sub-categorization, questioning the government’s inaction on the decade-old demand. He asserted that the BJP would likely forget its promises post-election.
