BJP’s AP Strategy: Medieval Mindset

Three Rajya Sabha Seats have fallen vacant due to the Resignation of the YSR Congress members – Beeda Masthan Rao, Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, and R Krishnaiah. All three will go to TDP+ as the YSR Congress does not have the strength to win.

TDP is likely to renominate Beeda for one of these three seats. There are rumors that BJP and Janasena are in a race for one seat.

The other day, there were Media Reports that Pawan Kalyan went to Delhi to get a Rajya Sabha Berth for his brother, Naga Babu.

After the speculations went rife, Naga Babu this morning posted on X saying “ఢిల్లీ వెళ్లిన purpose స్వార్థ ప్రయోజనాలకోసం కాదు, మన రాష్ట్ర ప్రయోజనాలకోసం. అలాంటి నాయకుడికోసం నా లైఫ్ ని ఇవ్వటానికి నేనెప్పుడూ సిద్ధంగా ఉంటాను. I dont have any political ambitions other than to serve my leader”.

Saying such things is common in politics. People will always say they are not interested in positions but no one will refuse to take them if they are given.

Analysts are doubting if Naga Babu posted this message only after the BJP High Command clarified Pawan Kalyan that they want this seat.

If the BJP gets this seat, they want to send R Krishnaiah or Kiran Kumar Reddy to Rajya Sabha.

They believe sending R Krishnaiah will woo the BC voters towards the BJP.

This is a farce belief. Jagan sent R Krishnaiah to Rajya Sabha with the same belief but no one could stop the defeat.

R Krishnaiah is known for changing colors as per the weather. We have seen him change many parties. He is unlikely to get any dividends in the Telugu States.

Kiran Kumar Reddy was the last Chief Minister of the Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. He got the post by a fluke and deceived the people during the Bifurcation.

He himself wrote his Political Obituary with the Bifurcation and has become inactive politically for the last ten years.

BJP has given him Rajampet MP ticket in the recent elections. Despite the election being an extraordinary swing election, Kiran Kumar Reddy could not win. That itself is an indication that he is a politically spent force.

Both Krishnaiah and Kiran Kumar Reddy are bad choices for BJP.

BJP is always clueless when it comes to Andhra Pradesh. It looks like they are the same even now.
