Blue Star ACs eyeing AP for its first South Plant!

Popular Air Conditioners brand, Blue Star is eyeing Andhra Pradesh for its first manufacturing plant in the South. The company currently operates from its plant in Himachal Pradesh and is looking to come South. It is said that the company is keen on setting up the plant near Krishnapatnam port and will make an investment of 150 Crore here.

However this will happen only if the state manages to get the Special Status. Blue Star is keen on the Special Status benefits as it wants to maximize its profits by saving on the taxes here. The company will finalize on the deal by October. This plant will manufacture 5 Lakh units per year.

The company is planning to complete the construction of the manufacturing unit in 15 months and start operations. Blue Star currently has a market share of 40% in South India and is keen to touch the 50% mark with this new plant.
