BRS Leaders Should Exercise Self-Control

The recent election defeat has hit the BRS like a thunderbolt.

The defeat came at a time when they were not expecting and when they were high on power. So, from the top leadership to the cadres, everyone is struggling to come to terms with the reality.

However, they are trying to take solace in the fact that Congress has a majority just around the magic figure.

Former Ministers Kadiyam Srihari and Errabelli Dayakara Rao were seen saying that anything could happen in the next year hinting that the government would fall.

It looks like BRS leaders are talking about Government falling to infuse confidence in the cadre and prevent them from going towards the Ruling Party but then, this may badly backfire as well.

In 2014, KCR triggered mass joinings from TDP and Congress saying that Chandrababu tried to unsettle his Government.

KCR even merged the Legislative Parties of TDP and Congress giving the same reason. He denied Opposition Leader status to the Opposition Parties.

After that, Jagan Mohan Reddy in a media interaction said he can topple the TDP Government if necessary since the majority is not very high. Chandrababu started taking YSR Congress MLAs saying the same reason.

With similar statements, BRS leaders are giving a chance to Revanth Reddy to trigger defections. They did not learn anything from what they did in 2014 or what Chandrababu did to Jagan in the same year.
