BRS MLA Harish Rao Arrested!

BRS MLA and former minister Harish Rao was arrested on Wednesday in Hyderabad. The arrest occurred amidst protests and allegations of constitutional violations.

Harish Rao was initially detained by the police when he visited MLA Kaushik Reddy’s residence earlier today. A heated argument ensued between cops and Harish Rao, resulting in a tense standoff.

He was subsequently taken to the Gachibowli Police Station. Shortly after, Kaushik Reddy was arrested and moved to the Banjara Hills Police Station.

The arrests follow a case registered against Kaushik Reddy for allegedly obstructing police duties when he visited the Banjara Hills station to file a complaint about alleged phone tapping.

Medchal BRS president and MLC Shambipur Raju attempted to enter Kaushik Reddy’s residence by scaling a wall but was stopped by the police. Other BRS leaders, including MLA Jagadish Reddy and Rakesh Reddy, were also detained and taken to the Rayadurgam Police Station as they tried to visit the residence.

Speaking on the matter, Harish Rao accused the ruling Congress in Telangana of undermining democratic principles and violating the Constitution.

“Is this democracy? Rahul Gandhi speaks about saving the Constitution, yet here in Telangana, it’s being violated at every step. We will not be intimidated by illegal cases. We will continue to fight for the people and stand with them,” Harish Rao argued.
