Busy in Social Media Cases, CID Has No Time for CM

CID is any state’s Premier Investigating Agency. The State Government relegates important cases in the state to this agency. But then, the definition has changed totally now. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Government is using CID to investigate the social media cases involving TDP cadre.

Even though such cases barely stand legal scrutiny, the very fact of going into police records and getting interrogated will push the people to stay away from criticizing the Government. So, CID is being used to handle social media cases. Interestingly, the same CID failed to make a single arrest in the murder case of the Chief Minister’s uncle, YS Viveka.

The murder happened just before the 2019 elections and Jagan is almost completing one year in power. More Jagan alleged TDP leaders involved in these cases. So, even that did not motivate the agency to complete the probe. There is no progress in the case whatsoever and CID is passing its time with trivial cases like this.

No wonder Viveka’s daughter approached the High Court for a CBI probe not trusting CID under her own brother.
