Can Naidu Get Telangana Clear AP’s Power Dues?

Andhra Pradesh has shifted its focus on to recovering the pending dues from Telangana for the power supplied to the latter. According to the Reorganization Act, Andhra Pradesh is giving 53.89% Power to Telangana from its Power Plants.

At the same time, AP is getting 46.11% from Plants in Telangana. Andhra Pradesh is seeking the clearance of dues of 4800 Crore from Telangana. But Telangana Genco says that they are to revise their power rates and so AP has to pay an excess of 1300 Crore than the amount AP is saying.

Andhra Pradesh says that even with the revised power rates, Telangana’s arrear will be huge. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu himself will take up the issue with Telangana government. AP has stopped paying for coal of Singareni as a result.
