Can YSR Congress Win Back Vijayawada?

YSR Congress due to its aversion to Amaravati as the Capital has lost its Political Sway over Vijayawada. After all those talks giving lands to the farmers after coming to Power, Jagan seems to be finally coming to terms with the fact Amaravati is the next Capital.

The party has struggled even to field candidates in Vijayawada Municipal Ward by-elections.The party is now keen on making amends to its mistakes and gains its foothold in Vijayawada. Accordingly, YSR Congress Plenary Meeting will happen in Vijayawada on July 8th and 9th.

YSR Congress last held its Plenary before 2014 elections in Pulivendula.The Plenary will happen on the occasion of YSR Jayanthi. The Party is expecting 13000 to attend the meeting from AP and Telangana. The Party’s President will be elected and State Committees will be appointed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In AP, all the districts will see District level Plenary meetings in June. But in Telangana where the party is totally battered, all the district level plenary meetings will happen in Hyderabad itself. The party is also gearing up for a membership drive the next year. It has to be seen if the Plenary meeting will send positive signals to Vijayawada People.
