Cash Strapped AP buys Costly Pens!

We have seen Andhra Pradesh government getting criticized for giving iPads to all the MLAs in the state during the last budget session. And now there is one more here which corners the government. The state government had sanctioned 1.11 Lakhs for the purchase of costly pens.

These pens will be given to the Ministers, Government Advisers and various Chairman offices. 478 Perricardin Pens and 22 Parker Pens are to be procured for this purpose. The bill came out at 1,11,435 is cleared by the government purchases committee.

These pens cost 225 to 535 Rupees. Such expense is totally unwanted given the crisis the state is in. Government should set a role model to the people in saving the state money. This type of expenses may also portray the state finances in good health to the Center which may lead to low funds flow to the state.
