Kavitha accused the Telangana Chief Minister of turning caste into an issue during the municipal polls. She expressed strong anger at CM Revanth Reddy for his remarks against the Velama community.
Kavitha reminded that Revanth Reddy had promised to govern without bias while taking oath as Chief Minister. She questioned whether he had forgotten that assurance. She said targeting any caste after swearing on the Constitution was unacceptable.
She alleged that the CM lacked the courage to fight opponents politically. According to her, this was the reason he was targeting a particular community. Kavitha said such actions weakened democratic values.
The Telangana Jagruthi president then shifted focus to the Speaker’s decision. She objected to the dismissal of the disqualification petition against Jagityal MLA Sanjay. She said Sanjay was formally inducted into Congress at Gandhi Bhavan.
Kavitha pointed out that the Congress also issued B forms to 30 candidates for municipal elections. She criticised the Speaker for giving a clean chit to Sanjay. She said the decision was wrong and damaging.
She further stated that if Sanjay had moral responsibility, he should resign and face a by poll. Kavitha warned that repeated damage to Constitutional rights would harm future generations. She demanded that the Speaker reconsider his decision.
For context, Revanth Reddy recently made sharp remarks against KCR. He said KCR could be the leader of his own caste but not the leader of Telangana state.
The Chief Minister made these comments at a public meeting in Miryalguda. He was campaigning there for the ongoing municipal polls. The remarks have since triggered strong political reactions.
