CBI Provides Major Respite To Jagan and Gali

In what can be termed as a major respite to Andhra Pradesh Opposition Leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Mining Baron, Gali Janardhan Reddy, CBI is unlikely to transfer the quid pro quo investments and the Obulapuram mining scam case to the Visakhapatnam CBI court. Technical aspects have come to their rescue as Rayalaseema is still under CBI Hyderabad jurisdiction.

Also since the alleged offence of issuing GOs to benefit companies that invested in his companies took place at the AP Secretariat in Hyderabad, they fall in Hyderabad jurisdiction itself. Jagan who is of the opinion that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has the power to influence the judiciary will be a relieved man with this.

Jagan who is residing in Hyderabad will also find it easy to attend court every Friday as per the court directions. Visakhapatnam CBI has jurisdiction over Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Vizianagaram, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts of AP. The Hyderabad CBI has jurisdiction over all other districts in AP and Telangana State. So Hyderabad CBI has jurisdiction over Rayalaseema.
