CBI Raids on Country’s Top Media Boss!

CBI Raids are going on in the residences and offices of Prannoy Roy, the founder of NDTV, one of the country’s biggest media house. A case was registered against Prannoy Roy, his wife Radhika Roy, a private company and others for allegedly causing a loss to ICICI bank.

The loan was purportedly taken for a corporation named RRPR Holdings Pvt Ltd in 2008. NDTV has termed these raids as concerted harassment on NDTV and its promoters by the government. CBI, however, spared the premises of NDTV from the raids.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and income tax (IT) authorities are probing NDTV since 2014. The company, RRPR is also under the scanner for funds it received from foreign entities in connection with Aircel-Maxis case and that of purchase of planes by Air India.
