CBI Tension in Jagan’s Camp

We are just three days away from another hearing in Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Bail Revocation case. The CBI Court in Nampally will hear the case on June 1st and the court in the previous hearing gave a final chance to the CBI and Jagan to file a counter in this case.

If the counters are not filed, the court will directly start the trial. There is an air of tension in the YSR Congress camp regarding what will be the counter of CBI in this issue. Usually, investigating agencies always ask for no bail and the highest punishment to any accused in the case.

In usual times, CBI has to support Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju‘s demand because the grounds he showed in the petition are valid. It is a fact that Jagan is not cooperating with the trial and it also true that the co-accused in Jagan’s cases are in important positions in Jagan’s Government and will have more chances to influence the witnesses.

But then, in this case, CBI’s stance will depend on BJP’s attitude towards YSR Congress. In the worst case, the CBI can help Jagan by asking the court to decide on the bail revocation without spelling its stance. But such a move will dent the image of the investigating agency.

But in the end, it will all depend on the BJP’s equation with YSR Congress. Jagan has sent a feeler on that front by supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jharkhand CM’s issue.
