Even before swearing-in as Chief Minister, Chandra Babu Naidu has decided to end the deep rooted Red Sandal Smugglers in Seshachalam forest. He reportedly strictly ordered Police and Forest officials to eliminate this menace with roots. Recently they have killed three smugglers in firing and arrested about 240 smugglers in Renigunta Railway Station. Police like never before are combing Seshachalam forest and are making these smugglers breathless.
One of the Kingpin in Seshachalam smuggling Gangireddy was the funder of Maoist when they planned to eliminate Chandra Babu years back in Alipiri. After Chandra Babu winning, he fled out of the country with fake passport. It is said that Police Interrogation of arrested criminals is revealing some big names in the previous government. Red Sandal trees in Seshachalam forest is one of the rarest variety in the world. They grow in over four and half lakh hectares of Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool, Prakasam and Guntur districts.
