Center Gives No Chance to Telangana Third Time in a Row

It looks like Telangana is unlikely to have a tableau for Republic Day Parade in New Delhi this year as well. The State government has not received any official communication from the tableau committee in Delhi regarding the exhibit by the youngest State.

This year, officials chose ‘Sammakka Saralamma’, popularly known as the ‘ Medaram Jatara’, as the theme. Medaram Jathra is the world’s largest tribal festival celebrated in February once every two years. With less than two weeks to go, they have lost their hope once again.

The tableau committee led by defense secretary reportedly okayed the theme but suggested some modifications. The state officials have sent the design with those changes but till date, have not received any official communication regarding the preparation of the tableau. Telangana has got no chance to display its tableau after the state formation.
