Center gives nod for Capital connectivity plan!

The Union government has given its approval for the 9000 Crore capital city connectivity project in Andhra Pradesh. The Union Transport Ministry will take up the conversion and development of 642 kilometre of roads connecting the capital city on Vijayawada-Guntur stretch from Kadapa and Anantapur districts into National Highways which will approve the connectivity of Rayalaseema to upcoming capital.

The ministry also greed to expand the road between Vijayawada and Guntur, a 32-km stretch. The existing roads are state roads and they will be converted to four lane National Highways. According to the norms of Government of India, the state capital should be connected with every district headquarter by a national highway.

This approval was achieved by the lobbying of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in his recent meeting with Union Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari few days ago in Delhi. The AP government will prepare Detailed project reports and submit to the Union transport Ministry shortly.
