Center permits TS to produce Power – Harish

In a sudden twist of event, Telangana Water Resources Minister Harish Rao claims that the Government of India had approved Telangana State to continue power generation till the standing crop of the state is saved.

Harish Rao met Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati twice on Monday and explained her how power generation in Srisailam Left Canals is necessary to save standing crops irrigated with about 20 lakh tube-wells.

However Government of India did not issue any orders regarding the same. The power generation which was stopped on Sunday midnight resumed today morning. The power generation took place from 5.45 to 6.10 on Tuesday morning. However Telangana officials claimed that they had to generate power to save the grid.

But it is said that the project Engineer received information from Krishna River Management Board that there are no instructions from Government of India of Union Water Resources Ministry and asked them to stop the power generation immediately.
