Center sitting on key Hyderabad projects

Telangana government is forced to work on two major expressways with the Ministry of Defence is sitting on the government’s request for land for months together. The detailed project reports (DPR) for the expressways proposed from Paradise to Shamirpet and on the Narsapur-Medak road were prepared a few months ago and the projects require about 105 acres for construction.

The majority of these lands belong to Ministry of Defence. A road widening proposal from Paradise is also halted for the same reason. Previously the ministry also kept the request for seeking of 60 acres defense land for the proposed new secretariat and even met Union defense minister Manohar Parikar, but with out any rick.

Disappointment is that the Ministry of Defense is not responding even as the state government is also willing to give equivalent land to to the defense forces. The defense officials are to visit the city soon to discuss the issues along with other issues including development of alternative roads by the GHMC.
