Center Suspects A Scam In Andhra Pradesh?

Union Government smells something fishy in Andhra Pradesh in NREGA works. The Center allots 20 Crore Working Days to every state until December. It will pay to the labor work to that extent under NREGA scheme. Andhra Pradesh has exhausted 105% of this limit in just five months.

The Center has alloted another 1.67 Crore Working days to the state but suspects a scam in these works because no other state in the country finished more than 75% of these days. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and West Bengal who will be usually at the forefront in this scheme did use only 60% to 75%.

The concerned ministry is going to send team to inspect at the Groundlevel. The teams are likely to visit Vishakapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Anantapur. The teams will visit Andhra Pradesh in this week itself and will take a stock of what is happening.

They sought seven types of documents from the State Government regarding the same. It has to be seen if the State can come clean in this.
