Center to decide ownership of Lower Sileru!

The Lower Sileru Power Project has become an issue of contention between both the Telugu States. the 460MW project is in the seven mandals of Telangana that are transferred to Andhra Pradesh for Polavaram project.

Andhra Pradesh demands that it will have the ownership on the project which is now in its geographical territory. Telangana on the other side do not want to forego the project as it will bring some respite to its power problems.

Krishna River Management Board could not take any decision regarding this as both the state took their stand. The board finally asked the Center to take a decision on it. Even the Center’s decision may not be final as the losing party will definitely knock the door of courts. Currently Andhra Pradesh is using the power produced from this project.
