Center delays even basic help to Naidu's effort

Andhra Pradesh government sent a proposal to the center to make all the people ‘Local’ to Amaravathi, they choose to return before June 30, 2017. This was to make sure all the government staffers return to Vijayawada from Hyderabad and they and their children become Local here.

This is mandatory for the administration shift as with out this the employees will not be coming to AP. But the Central government is even delaying this and recently asked the state government to “justify” its request seeking grant of ‘local status’. The Union Home Ministry had written to the state that it would not move forward on the request for change in ‘local status’ rules unless the state government “justifies” it within the legal framework.

The center also asked to It send copies of the amendments made four decades ago to the two major Acts that govern ‘local status’ — AP Educational Institutions (Regulation of admission) Act 1974 and AP Public Employment (organization of local cadre and regulation of direct recruitment) Act 1975. Interestingly these amendments were carried out by center itself.
