Center’s approval not needed for Section 8 – HC

Hyderabad High Court had struck down the petition asking the courts to direct the Center to implement Section 8 in Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. This petition was filed by Settlers forum in Hyderabad. The court struck down the petition saying that the petition is incomplete.

The high court also made crucial comments in this case. The court opined that Center has no role in Section 8. The court also said that the Governor need not to wait for Center’s insistence to impose Section 8 as there is nothing in the Act about Center’s role in bringing Section 8.

The other bench of the high court also struck down one more petition demanding high court’s interference in the Cash for Vote scam. The court opined that since ACB is investigating the case, its interference is not needed at this stage.
