Centre realises middleman’s role post bifurcation

The Central government which remained a mute spectator so far when Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are fighting it out on streets on various issues after the state bifurcation, finally decided to swing in to action. The Central government had appointed the Additional Secretary of Home Ministry, AK Singh as the nodal officer for resolving the issues and executing the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act.

AK Singh and his team came to Hyderabad a short while ago and will be meeting Chief Secretaries of both the states. They will take status reports of various issues from both of them and advise next steps.

The hasty last minute division of the state by the UPA government had resulted in several loop holes in the bifurcation bills. Both the states are suffering from those short comings. Centre to safeguard the political interests in both the states mostly adopted wait and see policy in the conflicting issues so far. We will have to see if they will so some spine at least now.
