Chandrababu keen on bringing Xiaomi to AP

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who is currently in China Tour met the executives of Chinese low-cost smart phone maker Xiaomi and electronics manufacturer Foxconn a short while ago. The Chief Minister informed the company about the advantages of setting up a manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu Naidu explained the company executives about the 21 day clearance mechanism for industries, abundant availability of water and land. The company officials informed the Chief Minister that they will meet him with a detailed proposal in June or July.

Xiaomi company’s smartphone sales alone totaled USD 335 million and off late they have grown very popular with the Indian users too. The company is looking at USD 3.5 billion investment in India in the next two-three years which would span across smartphones, software, TVs and other electronics.
