Naidu’s 24-Hour Mandate: The Race for ‘Real-Time’ Governance

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has officially put the state bureaucracy on a digital stopwatch. He has directed all officials to clear e-files within a strict 24-hour window. Addressing the District Collectors’ Conference, Naidu emphasized that moving to a single-day disposal is non-negotiable. He noted that some top departments already hit a 10-hour average, proving that “Andhra Speed” is a requirement for the 2026 digital era.

This directive is the backbone of a plan to make all government services 100% online by December 2026. The goal is to entirely end the need for citizens to visit government offices in person. Naidu’s “CEO-CM” approach now includes performance ratings for collectors, with the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) tracking every click. To remove excuses, he also ordered the immediate purge of APIIC lands from the prohibited Section 22A list to help MSMEs.

By setting this deadline, Naidu is attempting to institutionalize a culture of “Speedy Governance” that matches private-sector innovation. The mandate sends a clear message: the days of files gathering dust are over. With the state eyeing massive investments, this digital overhaul is the essential fuel needed to cut through red tape. If the system works, it could redefine how the public interacts with power.
