CBN Agreed To Accommodate Somu Veerraju?

The worst fears of the Telugu Desam Party cadres are coming true. The party is being forced to accommodate anti-TDP leaders of the BJP. Somu Veerraju who led the bandwagon is rumored to be getting a ticket.

BJP is seeking Tadepalligudem seat from Janasena citing that the party has won in 2014 from there. If Janasena agrees, Somu Veerraju will be the candidate. Janasena has its senior leader Bollisetti Srinu here as the candidate and so is reluctant to give the seat.

In case, Janasena gives Unguturu instead of Tadepalligudem, the BJP is planning to field Somu Veerraju from the Anaparthy constituency of East Godavari.

TDP cadres are disappointed about this move.

Also, Somu Veerraju’s candidature means whichever seat he contests is gone.

The Vote Transfer from TDP is impossible be it from Tadepalligudem or Anaparthi.

Janasena has a good chance of winning Tadepalligudem and TDP has a strong candidate to ensure a tough fight in Anaparthi which is a Reddy community bastion.

Veerraju’s electoral track record is dismal.

In the early days of his career, Somu Veerraju lost even in the local elections.

In the 2004 elections, he contested for the Kadiyam Assembly in alliance with BJP and TDP and lost by a margin of 40,000 votes.

In the 2009 elections, Somu contested as BJP candidate for Rajahmundry Parliament. He got only 1,643 votes out of the total 1,017,820 votes polled.

We will have to see how it pans out this time!
