Rohatgi argued at length saying that Section 17A is not applicable to this case as the inquiry started in 2018 much before the Section came into existence. He says a Whistleblower complained about it in 2018.

At one stage, he also urged the court to tilt towards eradication of the Corruption in case there is a doubt in the interpretation.

Justice Aniruddha Bose hearing the case expressed many questions and those questions are giving a hope to the TDP supporters that the bench will be inclined towards Chandrababu Naidu in the judgement.

One such Question is Justice Bose asking how the Police can file a case when they are barred even from an inquiry.

After hearing for close to an hour, the honorable Judges decided that the matter will pass over and Mukul Rohatgi said to consider Tuesday and not Monday. Luthra pressed for Monday but Rohatgi insisted on Tuesday.

The Bench then decided to take up the next hearing on Tuesday after Lunch.
