Naidu Puts Polavaram Conflicts in Modi’s Court

Odisha Government has informed the Supreme Court that the Chief Ministers of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh will sit and resolve the ongoing conflict over Polavaram Project. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had responded differently to this development.

Naidu went on to say that Polavaram is a National Project and it is the responsibility of the Prime Minister himself to resolve all the issues and disputes, according to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. Naidu also reminded how he convinced Chhattisgarh CM about the project but Odisha CM is raking it due to Political pressures.

Naidu will be flying to Delhi today and sit with Union Water Resources Minister, Nitin Gadkari over several pending issues of the project. Earlier Center has issued Stop Work Order for the Upper Cofferdam of the project which is necessary to give water through gravity.
