Why Did Naidu Skip Venkaiah’s Nomination?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was to attend the Nomination Ceremony of Venkaiah for the Vice-President Post. Naidu’s Peshi informed the Ministers that the Cabinet Meeting on Tuesday is canceled as result.

But then, after a few hours, they were once again informed that the meeting will go on as per the plan. Naidu decided to skip the ceremony and the reason for that is not known. Some TDP MPs are among those who are with Venkaiah at the nomination.

Venkaiah Naidu resigned as the Union minister last night and the additional charge of Ministry of Urban Development given to Narendra Tomar, I&B to Smriti Irani. Venkaiah Naidu Naidu will take on Gopalkrishna Gandhi, the Congress’ pick for the post. The election to the post of Vice-President will be held on August 5.
