CBN’s Focus Shifts to Gudiwada

While organizing programs on one hand, Chandrababu focused on the state of the party by constituencies, soliciting opinions from local leaders, selecting candidates and in-charges on the other hand. The Gannavaram and Gudivada seats in the Krishna district are among the most prestigious seats that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has won in the state.

The TDP recently announced Yarlagadda Venkatarao as the in-charge for the Gannavaram constituency and will nominate him for the upcoming elections. As for Gudivada, there will be a deliberation within the TDP to decide the suitable candidate.

Chandrababu is contemplating a strategy to garner support from all segments of society. Currently, Ravi Venkateswara Rao holds the position of in-charge in Gudivada TDP. Alongside him, Venigandla Ramu, who is aspiring for a Telugu Desam Party ticket in Gudivada, is also in contention. Chandrababu is carefully evaluating the potential success of issuing tickets to Ravi Venkateswara Rao and Venigandla Ramu.

To overcome Nani, physical strength, financial resources, and social alliances are necessary. Party leaders suggest that if Venigandla Ramu, who is actively engaged in the TDP, is given a ticket in the constituency, all considerations will align.

Kodali Nani secured victory four consecutive times in the Gudivada constituency due to his personal reputation. Gudivada was a stronghold of the TDP during the united state era. However, after Kodali Nani shifted allegiance from TDP to YCP, that stronghold became advantageous for YCP. Chandrababu is vigorously working to restore the party’s former glory. Kodali Nani enjoys popularity among the people here as a mass leader.

Furthermore, the strong wave of support also contributed to Kodali Nani’s success in 2019. Nonetheless, TDP leaders strongly criticize Kodali Nani for recent developments regarding the temple. Sections within the TDP contend that there is opposition to Kodali. It is anticipated that if Venigandla Ram is given a TDP ticket, a solid vote bank from the Kamma and SC social groups will be in favor.

Party insiders expect that Venigandla Ramu, who has already established a presence through service programs, can potentially outperform Kodali Nani in all aspects due to his NRI background. However, Chandrababu aims to approach this matter with careful calculations to avoid any misunderstandings regarding Gudivada.

Despite a slight delay in finalizing the candidate, the party is contemplating awarding the ticket to the most promising contender. The definitive candidate for the Gudivada TDP circle will only be determined during the course of the election campaign.
