Naidu’s solution for Local Status issue in Amaravati

Andhra Pradesh government is planning to scrap zonal restrictions making Amaravati as a free zone so that students of any district in the state to study and gets jobs there. The state government is likely to urge the central government to abolish Article 371 D from the AP Reorganisation Act 2014.

This decision was taken to make sure local status issue becomes an issue for the children of Andhra employees working in Hyderabad when they shift to Amaravati. The state government is mulling on a new job recruitment system which will not be based on the place of study.

On the other side, the state government is planning to withdraw SEZ status to Medha Towers and use it as a temporary secretariat. The SEZ denotification will be initiated with the Center after completing the formalities.
